Rebecca (Becky) Roberts

Associate Extension Agent - Agriculture and Natural Resources

A true product of Pittsylvania County, Becky was born and raised on a small beef cattle farm where she was active in both 4-H and FFA. She grew up showing Cattle and Sheep at the Pittsylvania Caswell Youth Livestock Show and Sale as well as Judged Livestock for both 4-H and FFA. After graduating from Gretna High School she went on to study Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech. During her time at Virginia Tech, she continued to show Cattle and served on the Virginia Tech Livestock Judging team. Becky went on to get her Master’s Degree in Agriculture in Extension Education in 2004.

In the Fall of 2004, Becky began her career as an Agriculture Education teacher. She has taught at both the middle and high school level. During her career as an ‘Ag Teacher’ she was asked many times “What is Agriculture and what does it mean to you?” Her response was always, “Agriculture to me is how I was raised, it is what I have studied for many years, it’s the lifestyle that I am raising my family in and it is WHO I AM.” In 2013 she returned to college to receive her Master’s in Supervision in Leadership.

Additionally, Becky and her husband have served on numerous boards including the Farm Bureau Young Farmer’s State Committee, Southern States Young Cooperators, and various local boards. She and her family are active members at Hollywood Baptist Church and they enjoy fishing in their free time.
